A new film titled Death Note: Light up the NEW world, described as a "forbidden sequel" to the first live-action film, is set to open in Japan on October 29. The manga also inspired a stage But just so you know, Raye Penber is a really memorable character in this series because of the changes. They also made minor changes to Teru Mikami. But this is only really plotwise. The drama series follows the Anime closely. With the same moments and even some scenes that are practically identical.

The live-action series based on Shinichirō Watanabe's anime series follows bounty hunters Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir) and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) as they search the galaxy for wanted criminals.
I like them all, but I would say Masataka Kubota in the Death Note TV drama. I just feel like he did a really great job in that role. The TV drama itself is really good imo, and is my favorite of the live-action versions of Death Note.
This has been the status quo for almost all of the live-action Death Notes. The Yotsuba group, the Mafia, Teru Mikami, Kyiomi Takada, and of course, Near and Mello, are usually left out.
